After taking the Foundation Year at the Royal Drawing School in London, Georg Wilson is now completing a BA in History of Art at the University of Oxford. Her paintings are inspired by myths and fairy tales, ranging from Christina Rossetti’s ‘Goblin Market’ to the Brothers Grimm’s ‘Juniper Tree’. Her most recent compositions tease out strange, playful moments enacted by sulky, awkward characters at moonlight.

Georg is based between Oxford and London. She has curated exhibitions in Oxford, whilst her writing has appeared in LUX Magazine and the Literary Review. In October, she will begin the MA Painting course at the Royal College of Art

Extract from Angela Carter’s Book of Fairy Tales:
Sermerssuaq was so powerful that she could lift a kayak on the tips of three fingers. She could kill a seal merely by drumming on its head with her fists. She could rip asunder a fox or hare.
